Their green color is due in part to photosynthesis, so it’s no surprise that these anemones are mostly white when found inside caves and swim throughs were direct sunlight doesn’t reach. Dive Site Notes: gear up in the dirt, hike down the cliffs, time the leap with the surf, descend, pin it at designated compass bearing navigating the pinnacles and mini shelves, hit the right pinnacle, swim to the backside, compose a few frames. This one might call for an adventure dive vlog episode!
On first glance this is a photo of some urchins an On first glance this is a photo of some urchins and anemones, but in looking closer, we see that the purple sea urchins are proceeding to graze down the kelp stocks, turning a once lush kelp canopy over fields of abalone and invertebrates into a barren moonscape. Lucky for everyone, the kelp (helped by many hardworking people) is working to bounce back.
